The last post :D

This is my last post and is about my whole experience using this blog in my English class.

I think that I never had written in English this far long that with this blog. Is a very good tool to learn a lot of vocabulary in the practice and understand the meaning of the words, prhases and texts In addition in the social sciences we must write a lot, so this educational process is related with our formation like professionals. In general the experience has been good and I hope to finish the year in the best possible way.

In the future I would like that we could write more about the social movements from around the world and discuss about the criminalization of social protest because it is necessary to talk about things that we really can affect as social scientists.

In conclusion… this experience gave me a lot of difficulties due to my own dislike about the English. This situation has come since my scholarship and it represent a lot of troubles in my life and my social circle. Instead of my personal concerns I have learned that this asignature becomes an important part of my academic development, and so the whole process has been fruitful for my personal growth.

Free post: "OLD BOY"

Today I am going to talk about a really good movie. Sincerely usually I only see movies from Hollywod becuause I hadn`t searched movies from other places because I wasn't interested but when I see this movie I was very impressed.

The name of the movie is OLDBOY, is from south Korea, and it was directed by Chan-wook Park. Is the second movie of the vengance trilogy. Three independents movies that adress about the same topic: the vengance.

OLD BOY adress about a normal person that one day, without a apparent reason, is kidnap in a litle apartment and someone kill his family and the protagonist is blamed. Then, after fifteen years, wihtout a aparent reason again, is liberated. The protagonist begin to discover who kidnapped him to take vengance but he don´t have succes. In his way he know a joung woman and they make fall in love. 

I like this movie because it have a own esthetic and rate, so different that the Hollywood movies. And is really unpredictable! have a lot of turnarounds so, without a doubt, I recomend it!

Ruy Mauro Marini (1932-1997)

He is Brazilian sociologist and economist, very renowned in the development of the discipline y Latino America. He is known for being one of the main thinkers of the “teoría de la dependencia” and also, for making use of the Marxist theory in the Latin-American context. Marini has an especial bond with Chile, due to his participation as a militant in the MIR (movimiento izquierda revolucionaria) in the seventies. 

His main work, “Dialectica de la dependencia”, is very relevant nowadays for the sociological discipline.Because of the detailed analysis that Marini does about the Latin-American countries development conditions. Which are defined by their dependency in a context of global capitalism. Studies on this subject are very important for the discipline, in which Marini is one of the essential authors.

The first time I Heard about him was at school, was by doing homework in the history class about the MIR founding and principal thinkers. Later on, during my second semester I took the Latin-American Social History class. In which I had the chance the read a bit more of his work. That even today stills call my attention.

The (Anti) Poet

A lot of Chilean people think Pablo Neruda is the best poet ever. When they say “Chile, country of poets” in general they are thinking in Neruda or Mistral, our two Nobel. I think this is a horrible mistake, because Nicanor Parra has been forget.

I think there are not something more poetic than the antipoetry of Parra. He demolished the classic structure of the verses as much is possible. He takes the idyllic and distant poetry and converts it in something ordinary and human. In other words, he put in the street and houses something that always belonged to libraries of the high classes.

Nicanor Parra began to inspire on the common, the routine, the injustice, also he inspired on love, but a Chilean love, something more picaresque.In sum, he did an act of rebellion and gave to the people the faculty to express them interiority in an easy way. He gave to the people the opportunity to reclaims and up in arms from de verses. He killed the traditional poetry.

"Soccer with Ski Mask"

On this occasion I'm going to talk of my favourite photograph. I like the pictures representing an important historic moment and this photograph represents a great part of indigenous Zapatista movement. This movement begin in Mexico with the rise of the Zapatista Army for National Liberation on January 1, 1994, and the rebels protested the marginalization and the social exclusion of indigenous and the poor people. 

This picture was taken about 1999, as the Zapatistas were preparing a soccer match against ex professional soccer players in Chiapas. In this photograph you can see the players with Zapatista team shirts and sky mask waiting the match. The Zapatistas movement propose to change the meaning of soccer and reclaim,with this action, the right to dignity and liberty of the indigenous community. In this soccer match the competition was replaced for the solidarity and the most important thing is the participation as much for men as for women for the transformation of the society. 

Definitely, I like this photo because represent the best of the Zapatista movement: Happiness and Liberty.

"Popular Education: Subvert the Common Sense"

The popular education is a way of independent learning, opposite to formal system education. This alternative consist in try to change the common sense of certain communities through the process of community work. This process needs to count with a massive participation, because the interactions among the subjects produce the real process of learning, that is, a solid and significant learning. The possibility of share our experience, allows us share all of knowledge acquired over time.   

In contrast to the formal system education, the subjects are understood collectively, and not as separate persons. The activities are realized by joint works and every persons is important to the process. The ability to learn collectively supposes the participation of the community in the creation of cultural values and new forms to relate with others.  That is to say, the popular education it is proposed transform the basis of the society and provide solutions to resolve conflicts of your own life communally.

Today in Chile, there are numerous groups dedicated to this labour, and I expect are obtain good results, because is very important stimulate the fight of the people for your rights.

"My favourite piece of technology"

My favorite technology article is my computer. Because inside of it I can save my pictures, my academic works and a lot more information. Besides, as everybody knows, I can surf the Internet, and the best thing of all is gain access to many information and many kinds of activities.I have had my computer for a very long time and it has been very useful for me and my family. I use my computer every day, principally for do my homework, study and talk to my friends on facebook. 

Sincerely, I'm not a big fan of technology. I prefer to share more time with my family and friends. I believe I don't depend on technology, but I can't deny the relevance of it in my life. I mean, the computer in esential in my routine. But I also bealive that I could go just fine with out it.
